News and Events
- Public Works Department crews have begun annual hydrant flushing of the Town's water system. Click here to view more information on the purposes and benefits of this program, and what residents may expect during this time.
- Bi-weekly garbage and recyclable collection ended on August 27. These items will be picked up on Mondays only until next June. For more information on sanitation and recycling services, click here.
- The Institutional Parking Study Committee will hold their final meeting to complete their recommendations for revisions to the Town's parking regulations on March 9 at 9:00 a.m. in the Assembly Inn Reading Room.
- There will be an Arbor Day celebration on Saturday, March 19 at 1:00 p.m. in the Walkup Building. Montreat College Professor Dr. Brian Joyce will give a presentation on tree identification, natural history, uses and resource management. The presentation will be followed by a tree identification walk along Gate Trail and Flat Creek.
- The Board of Commissioners will hold their annual Retreat on March 26 at 9:00 a.m. in the Land-of-Sky Regional Council's conference room.
- The Montreat Landcare Committee's next meeting will be on April 6 at 9:00 a.m. in Freeland Hall, Meeting Room A.
- The Open Space Conservation Committee will meet on April 12 at 3:00 p.m. in the Moore Center Meeting Room.
